Today I'm proud to present the recent project by Seattle-based documentary photojournalist
Mike Kane, one of the Pacific Northwest's most outstanding photographers. Mike was a staff photographer at the former Seattle Post-Intelligencer now better known as the
seattlepi where I had the great responsibility to edit his daily work and special projects assigned to him. After the newspaper closed for business, we have continued to work together on his many projects as a freelancer. Although my journey as an editor has taken me to the Middle East, Central America and back to the U.S., Mike has always reached out to find how he can be better at his craft and I'm lucky to get the opportunity to see the raw takes from the thousands of frames he captures.
Most recently, Mike produced another important story for
Equal Voice News (
the Marguerite Casey Foundation) on the Navajo people of northern Arizona. The following edit was featured on
MSN News. I'm looking forward to the next project.
